BMCC (Watercolour)

As promised here is my second attempt. This is BMCC, where I graduated way back in 1990. Like most students I have very fond memories of this place. Also find the original photograph on which this one is based.

Tiergarten Berlin (Water colour)

I have a special relationship with Berlin where I have stayed for one full year as a student. So when I saw a photograph from the Tier Garten, I felt like giving it a try. The colours were so beautiful! Once again the painting has only shapes, colours and tones, no details. Why not? Because I keep the photograph at least 6 ft away from me and paint. And I keep checking my paintings from a distance only. However I am just not able to show the impact on this blog. Too bad! For best results, try looking at your monitor from some distance. Alternatively visit my blog 5 years from now. By then I hope my paintings willl look good in close up also!

Lake-view (watercolour)

Another painting of a lake. Based on a photograph as usual. I loved the colours of the sky and the water. And also the silence in the atmosphere.

Summer time is here! (watercolour)

It's like mid-summer in Pune with temperatures soaring to more than 37 deg. celcius. So kids are jumping in the water for a cool swim during afternoons.

I initially planned to only paint the water but then decided to complete the painting with the two boys. This is based on a photograph from a local newspaper. Once again I have experimented by not painting the details precisely. Looks good from a distance. But I still need to figure out how to show that effect in a photograph on this blog.
