Lake Balaton, Hungary (Watercolour)

Zoltan Antal-Mokos, one of my best professors at ESMT, Berlin and a very good friend, published an article about himself last week. A photograph of Lake Balaton was included there. Normally I would have thought twice before painting it (after all lake is a lake and sunsets are sunsets, they all look similar, (but always beautiful)!). However here with the Zoltan connection, I had a strong urge to paint it. So here it is. Painted for Zoltan. I hope he will like this!

Chasing the birds away (watercolour)

This one is from an old photograph from my Kodaikanal trip few years back.

Storm (Watercolour)

This is based on a newspaper photograph, apparently from the movie "Pirates of the Carribean". I have not seen the movie but I liked the photograph, especially the sky. Unfortunately I was unable to properly capture the yellow colour on my camera. The painting looks better.

Stone Wall (Water colour)

Another small painting that I enjoyed doing. This one is different than my usual paintings, since this looks better even from a close distance! Some improvement...

Door (watercolour)

I am in a practice mode. Making small paintings of just 18 X 25 cms. Trying out figures, structures, still-life and so on. Here is one of them. Perspective is little off but the door is what I liked the most.
