Berlin evening and Konkan Afternoon (Watercolour)

2 new paintings on larger paper and with wetter colour. I like only parts of these paintings. Both could have been better.

My brush continues to run!

Here are two more painting. First one based on MM book demo and second one my own attempt. As Mike Bailey says I am trying to get the first 500 paintings out of my way so I start to improve!

Autorickshaw (watercolour)

Here is another one based on a demo from Milind Mulick book. The perspective could have been better but I am currently not bothered about these things just now. After all I am not a professional artist, just an art student! Still trying to ensure that the colours are wet and transparent.

Painting Vs Applying Paint (Watercolour)

One important feedback I have received is that most of my paintings look dry and do not have the glow and transparency of a typical water colour painting. One of my friends very aptly mentioned that there is a difference between applying paint vs painting. I agree!

So as a good student, I am on a mission to correct the flaw. Therefore, in next few days, I am going to practice using demonstrations from various books. The obvious starting point for me was Milind Mulick's book "Watercolour" featuring most amazing works of this master. I completed 2 and half painting yesterday in one sitting. Posting the one I liked the most.

I can paint again!

In last couple of weeks I realised that it is impossible to paint when there is no peace of mind. My father was hospitalised, lot of work pressure at office, some travelling on top and I just could not paint properly. I was losing patience, giving up paintings half-way, changing the subjects (photographs) quite frequently etc etc. So finally when my father is back home and things are settling down a bit, I could produce a painting of sorts. Is this one of the better ones? Certainly not. But a lot of effort has gone behind this. So just wanted to add it here as a documentation of my realization. Surprisingly my office work happens regardless of my mood, why is that??
